The Ankeny Police Foundation was created by members of the Ankeny Police Department who believed that strong communities are built through trust, compassion, and service. While public funding supports day-to-day law enforcement operations, the Foundation provides opportunities to invest in people—supporting youth, helping families, and creating programs that bring officers and the community together.

The Ankeny Police Foundation was established by dedicated Ankeny Police Department Members who recognized the importance of strengthening relationships between law enforcement and the community it serves. The Foundation was created to provide immediate resources and opportunities that extend beyond traditional public funding, allowing the organization to support youth programs, educational initiatives, community outreach efforts, and families in need.

Making a meaningful difference
One of the Foundation's most meaningful achievements has been the impact it has made on local children and families through the Christmas with Cops program. Each year, the program brings together officers, volunteers, sponsors, schools, and community partners to provide a memorable holiday experience for children and families who may be facing financial hardship. Beyond gifts and necessities, Christmas with Cops creates lasting memories and positive connections that strengthen relationships between law enforcement and the community.
